Hello is pronounced Sheeeeeeeuuuuwww'L'mu(?) The first part sounds like the call of a of a bird, the "L" is a rapid flick of the tongue, and the "mu" should have a raised inflection almost like an innocent question.The person responding usually says the same without the inflection. We have a more formal greeting amongst those of us who are more "spiritually" inclined, but it is too difficult to explain how to pronounce it with letters and words alone. In English it translates into, "My waters of life, bow to the furnace that forged you."

That still doesn't give me the IPA spelling of the longer greeting, but I'll keep looking.
