Imagine that your real self, your soul, lives on forever. Imagine that you were given an opportunity to take a small trip away from your usual existence, one in which you would "start fresh" without the detailed knowledge of your real life during this sojourn. You would be given free will to do whatever you chose to do. However, everyone else you encounter during this time would also be given that freedom too. You would have to humble yourself to live as an imperfect lesser being, but you would be able to earn currency, glory, and honor for the great things you do on your return. You'd learn lessons, and truths too.

Would you do it? Would you volunteer? What if you already did?

This life is temporary. It seems long to us, but we have a shortened human perspective. When our souls return to the source, God, the One, the Creator, we are welcomed and our lifetime reviewed for all that we've done.

What will be your legacy? Did you learn and grow? Did you earn currency by giving of yourself, using your talents, empowering and helping others, doing good deeds, loving, forgiving and learning? Did you try hard and do your best? Are you proud of who you are and what you've made of this opportunity to live now, in your body, in this world, at this time, with the talents, family and friends you've been given? Were you humble and grateful? Did you love others and serve God?

Or did you waste your life, seeking money and pleasure while taking from others? Were you lazy, whiney, selfish, rude, mean and resentful? Did you hurt others physically or emotionally? Did you refuse to forgive? Did you just go through the motions? Were you self-indulgent? Did you judge others harshly while making excuses for yourself?

No one is perfect. We all fall short. And even if thus far in your life, you've disappointed your real self, your soul, who is part of you, even if you let down the God who gave you this opportunity of life, there is time to change. You can choose to do better. Free will is real. You can disappoint today, but do great things tomorrow.

Your legacy continues while you live. Don't just live for the moment. Life is short, it really is. The years fly by when you're not looking. So make the most of this opportunity. It's your choice, your life, your soul, your legacy.
