You guys do understand that thanks to the miracle of nuclear testing, most human beings these days are exposed to isotopes that didn't exist before the last century, roughly speaking, right? We don't need to be chipped to be trackable. We're already lit up like Christmas trees on surveillance satellites designed to track very specific radiological signatures. You wouldn't believe what these satellites can do. They can discern people who've had a common vascular procedure done, from orbit. They can tell how old you are, roughly, by the decay of the radiant particles in your bloodstreams. Jesus, if you're seriously freaking out about "being chipped" you've got quite the headfuck coming.

Lately I'm struck by just how many times I've heard the narrative of this sub before, in other formats and places. That movie is just one example. Why is this story being told over and over in so many iterations, with so many common elements?

The alien quarantine. Humans being harvested for medicine. Suppressed technologies. I mean, take a look at this website. Belongs to a guy named Corey Goode, who claims to be an ambassador of sorts, to a "Sphere-Being Alliance." From this website:
