I have this covered in Rule #5, but it bears repeating and additional clarification.

I want to tread very lightly and carefully on the subject of religion on this particular sub-reddit. Garbo and RD are very careful of it for a reason. This much information, both the quality and quantity that RD has provided would be very easy for an opportunist to exploit for profit or power.

I think it is great to understand another species’ culture and beliefs as we continue to study them/understand them better. I would only worry were there attempts to use the religion of the Naigaje or other species to justify or reinforce beliefs or practices that otherwise cannot/do not hold up against sound logic or reasoning, or if were used to try to cajole, manipulate people for a specific purpose or conform them to a set of beliefs.

We do not want to undermine anything from the other two subreddits here.

Some examples of what is acceptable/not acceptable :

“I find it fascinating how we can find similarities in beliefs with other species. Isn’t it amazing how so many of these themes seem so universal?” -Good comment.

“I am so inspired by all of these revelations here. It completely changes my entire world view! This has changed my life in the following ways...” -Still completely acceptable comment.

“These revelations here completely re-write all of our understanding of reality, history and human knowledge. People need understand that because of my interpretation of this... this... and this... that they need to change how they think and feel about X.” -This is getting into the whole using this knowledge for personal gain, power and aggrandizement. Too many of these type of comments from any individual will get them banned.

“Even though what RD said it this... I think what he really meant, put into the proper context is this...”- This is how charlatans, sociopaths and manipulators undermine messages and information for their own gain. Any comment like this will likely result in an instant ban.

Public Service Announcement.
