Do we know what will happen exactly? Oceans rising, dollar bill becoming worthless? I can prep better with some insight.

That's just it. It could be many things. The northwest will face earthquakes and volcanic erruption. All coasts and rivers will face flooding. Contagions spreading will kill many, and require isolation. Conflicts will break out on every continent over resources and ideologies. The dollar will tank.

The fact is, the Consortium intends to reduce our numbers in a big way, in order to maintain control over us. While we remain without rights to live on our own, they do what they want to profit off of us. We must learn to speak in real time to gain rights.

At some point, we will fight them. And those who refuse to comply with mandates to get chipped will become outlaws, unable to purchase anything in stores at all. We'll have to hide and barter. Life will become difficult.

With the current plans of the Consortium, within 40 years we will all be chipped and our bodies will be overwritten to the highest bidders to extend their lives. Those not chosen will continue to suffer from contagions, have blood and body parts harvested, or become slaves to those overwritten by aliens. It's a grim future we must prepare for.

I'm learning to grow gardens and shoot weapons and make useful things for trade. I'm gathering books of useful knowledge to rebuild society if we are bombed or EMT burst to where electricity won't work. I'm gathering things like manual plows, windmills, fishing gear, canoes, generators, solar everything will be necessary, if not for me, then for mine.

Do likewise and gather now, while you can.

What will we do to answer the beacon then, so scattered?

.... it needs to be answered beforehand.

Extra pairs of socks if possible. My husband is an eagle scout and said he would rotate his socks throughout hikes to prevent wet feet. Tie damp, worn socks on top of pack to dry.

Proper foot care in any environment where you are moving around a lot is paramount.

A couple things about Go-bags, they are useless if you can’t carry them, so it is important to have one that fits you well, and to not pack it to the point of being too heavy. That means the weight and amount you take differs for each person.

Some space and weight saving ideas follow:

First Aid Kit: Instead of bandaids carry superglue. It is a better wound sealer and can be used for other things. Benadryl, Ibuprofen are a must. Other medicines as needed. Small pair of scissors, tweezers and needle. Lighter and alcohol to sterilize implements. Tampons are a must, even if you are a guy... they are some of the least expensive and most efficiently packed wound dressings to stop bleeding, especially when applied as part of a pressure dressing (though there are some amazing clotting agent dressings available if you are willing to fork over the money for them).

Money: Dollars might not lose all of their value all at once, so having some cash on hand in the go-bag isn’t a bad thing, but make sure not to rely on credit or bank cards. Also, having a backup copy of cryptokeys for a digital wallet is a good idea for when you get someplace you can use them. Let’s not forget good old fashioned gold...

As another little item to keep in mind... plastic water containers are absolutely useless.

I also like to have baby wipes or something like them because it may be a long time before you see a shower and especially with women, it is important to avoid certain types of infection.

So, has anyone else noticed how with each natural disaster, regardless of how big or small it is, the media immediately tries to get people to demand a federal response? Don’t get me wrong... helping out and sending appropriate aid at the right time is what governments should do.

However, if you live in Florida or the Gulf Coast you, and likely your family have grown up dealing with most types of flooding and interruptions of utilizes during storm/hurricane season, and overt federal control over the response and recovery just make citizens more helpless in the long run.

I am of course referring to the Tropical Storm Barry hysteria I saw on the news this morning.

They want us utterly dependent on the government for maximum control over us.

[–] fieldlilly 1 points

...because they are also flexing to be the ones in ultimate control of that government. Hopefully that gets thwarted.

The best case America has will always be its local government.

As such, that is where we have the most control in our fates, even if her hands are seemingly set, no thing is etched into the ledger stone till the present turns to the past.

Remember Katrina.

That was a failure.

How do we best work on from troubles like that?

Local government perhaps?

They're the most connected and closest to the people.

Guys remember we'll have to prepare either way...

If we answer the beacon, we still have to prepare for the huge ground and air/space war that will surely follow...

If we don't... Well... We're on our own cuz we'll be fugitives with no ability to buy or sell conventionally. Needless to say no chippies, no jobbies...

I think a good mountain bike to boost our effective mobility is a good idea too
