I see. Tap the pipe and see where the sinks ring?

I'd have to say this is an unfortunate but quite understandable consequence of forces most people don't really understand.

The first force is "decadence." Think Charlemagne and what gavelkind did to the HRE after his death. King Salman is basically fighting against his entire extended family to maintain his authority over the inheritance. They've been in "the King is dead, long live the King" mode since Jan 26. Any satire that convinces people to back one of the hundreds of other princes means he's got a civil war on his hands.

But the real kicker is that the Sultanate is literally sitting on "black gold" to the tune of 6 trillion dollars. Money like that is powerful. SA isn't the "+++" of Q's "666" pyramid (even above the Rothschilds and Soros) for nothing. Some of the siblings were involved in using that vast 6 trillion dollar oil fortune to involve themselves in the politics of other countries. Alwaleed bin Talal, ("Dopey") for example, is deeply linked to HRC ("Alice" and "Wonderland"). Her loss was basically his loss.

Now think about Las Vegas. Want to take a guess at who is a majority owner in the top floors of the Mandalay Bay? Yup. That Alwaleed bin Talal. This was his attempt at revenge.

At the very least King Salman is cooperative with the US and has jailed some of the other more corrupt princes. It's basically been a game of trying to pick the least horrifying "devil" that has characterized the dealings of the West and SA for about a century.
